Public meetings
Routine maintenance problems usually go through the district’s reporting process. Attending a meeting is more useful when you want the board itself to make a decision or hear your opinion.
Neighborhood and emergency-service decisions
Belmont District 1+
Generally west of Harvest Way
Use this for: District 1 taxes, neighborhood roads, drainage, streetlights, trash contracts, police agreements, and district spending.
Usually meets: Second Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
Where: 1301 Homestead Way
Belmont District 2+
Generally east of Harvest Way
Use this for: District 2 taxes, neighborhood roads, drainage, trash contracts, police arrangements, district debt, and district spending.
Usually meets: Second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Where: 1301 Homestead Way
Next confirmed meeting: Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. The posted meeting includes a public tax hearing.
Denton County ESD Nos. 1 and 2+
Use this for: Fire and EMS taxes, budgets, stations, ambulance service, major equipment purchases, and other decisions about the shared Fire & EMS system that serves Harvest.
How it works: These are two separate public districts with separate five-member boards and separate tax lines. They commonly meet together, but each board votes separately. The commissioners are appointed by Denton County Commissioners Court rather than elected by residents.
Usually meets: Second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
Where: Station 511, 511 Gibbons Road South, Argyle
Next confirmed meeting: Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. The posted meeting includes a public hearing.
Roads, development, and nearby growth
Denton County Commissioners Court+
Use this for: County roads such as Old Justin Road, county road funding, the Sheriff’s Office, the county tax rate, and larger Denton County projects that affect Harvest.
If Denton County is paying for or controlling the project, this is usually the public body making the final county decision.
Usually meets: Most Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m.
Where: Denton County Administrative Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Drive, Denton
Northlake Planning & Zoning+
Use this for: New subdivisions, shopping areas, road connections, or other development near west Harvest when the property falls within Northlake’s planning authority.
Check the agenda for projects near Harvest, Cleveland Gibbs Road, FM 407, or other nearby land. You do not need to follow every meeting.
Where: Northlake Town Hall, 1500 Commons Circle
Northlake Town Council+
Use this for: Northlake water or sewer decisions affecting District 1, agreements between Northlake and Belmont, the Northlake police contract, town roads, and larger Northlake development decisions near Harvest.
This meeting is especially relevant when Belmont District 1 is paying Northlake to provide a service.
Usually meets: Second and fourth Thursday of each month.
Where: Northlake Town Hall, 1500 Commons Circle
Argyle Planning & Zoning+
Use this for: Subdivisions, shopping centers, apartments, road connections, and other development near east Harvest or FM 407 when the property falls within Argyle’s planning authority.
You may see the word plat on an agenda. A plat is the map showing how a development will be divided into lots, streets, and other pieces.
Where: Argyle Town Hall, 308 Denton Street E.
Argyle Town Council+
Use this for: Argyle wastewater service, agreements affecting District 2, town road decisions, development policy, roadway impact fees, and other Argyle decisions that could affect growth around east Harvest.
Argyle Water Supply Corporation provides water to District 2, while the Town of Argyle provides wastewater service. Those are separate organizations.
Where: Argyle Town Hall, 308 Denton Street E.
TxDOT and FM 407+
Use this for: The long-term widening of FM 407, state-highway lanes and signals, changes around I-35W, right-of-way for highway projects, and major TxDOT construction plans.
TxDOT does not hold a regular monthly FM 407 meeting. Public hearings and meetings are scheduled when a project reaches a stage that calls for public input.
Schools
Argyle ISD School Board+
Use this for: School boundaries, Argyle West Elementary, Scott Gibson Middle School and other campuses, buses, teacher pay, curriculum, school construction, bonds, district rules, and the Argyle ISD budget.
If Argyle ISD changes attendance zones, builds a campus, changes bus service, or adopts a district-wide policy, the school board is the group that votes.
Where: Argyle ISD Administration Building, 6701 Canyon Falls Drive
Regular meetings are open to the public and livestreamed.
Northwest ISD School Board+
Use this for: School boundaries, Lance Thompson Elementary and other NISD campuses, buses, teacher pay, curriculum, school construction, bonds, and the Northwest ISD budget.
Northwest ISD is growing quickly, so attendance boundaries, new campuses, construction, and staffing come before the board regularly.
